Headlight Restoration
Cloudy headlights? Bring back clarity.
Sun and weathering break down the protective outer layer on plastic headlight lenses. They turn yellow and hazy, the car looks older than it is, and less light gets through. Restoration works on that outer surface: the damaged layer is taken back, the lens is refined until it is clear, and the surface is protected again.

How it works
Five stages, in order.
- 01
Assess
We check whether the haze is on the outside of the lens, where restoration can fix it, or inside, where it cannot.
- 02
Mask
Paint and trim around each headlight are taped off so only the lens is worked on.
- 03
Restore
The yellowed outer layer is taken back and the lens refined in stages until it is clear.
- 04
Protect
The clear lens is sealed so it is not left bare to the Queensland sun.
Questions
Headlight Restoration, answered.
What causes headlights to go yellow and cloudy?
UV exposure and weathering. Plastic headlight lenses leave the factory with a protective outer coating, and once the sun breaks that down the plastic underneath oxidises and turns yellow and hazy.
Can every cloudy headlight be restored?
No. Restoration fixes deterioration on the outside of the lens. Cracks, moisture inside the headlight, damaged reflectors or electrical faults need repair or replacement instead, and we will tell you if that is the case before any work starts.
How much does headlight restoration cost?
It is quoted on the vehicle, because the time depends on the size of the lenses and how far gone they are. Book online or send a quote request and we will confirm the price.
How long does a headlight restoration last?
It depends on the lens, the protection applied afterwards, how much sun the car sees and how it is washed. A garaged car keeps the result longer than one parked outside every day. We will talk you through looking after them.
Can I add headlight restoration to a detail?
Yes. It is commonly booked alongside an exterior or full detail at the Nerang studio, so the whole front of the car is done in one visit.
